Whalehaven Artisan Winery, based at the entrance to the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus, is a unique taste experience centre where guests to the Overberg area can learn more about wine. The winery offers one of the most extensive portfolios in the area producing over 20 different varieties under its two distinctive labels spanning classic French single varietals, rare Italian varietals as well as a selection of blends.

The wine experience centre offers innovative tasting sessions for wine explorers the chance to use their senses to explore.

The winery is pushing the boundary in sensory exploration of wine aromas whether it be fruit, floral, mocha or wood notes.

They have a unique Jammery sourcing jams from across the Overberg countryside and have created ultra-aromatic fruit jams called Golden Country. The winery offers guests unique sensory palettes with Wine Jams & Botanical Marmalades infused with various flora including rose geranium, ylang ylang, viola and orange blossoms as well as South African fynbos.

The Artisan winery both sells handcrafted wines and various high-end African artisan goods such as bespoke wine perfumes by Tammy Frazer of Frazer Parfum (an ongoing collaboration exploring scent in wine that has lasted for over 3 years), collectable ostrich egg-shell wine coolers by Avoova and much more.
