About Shakespeares Globe
Shakespeare's Globe is an authentic timber-framed and thatched roof replica of the Globe Theatre, an Elizabethan playhouse on the River Thames. Performances repeat the original environment of Shakespeare's theatre and there are no spotlights, microphones or sound amplification. Performances have a genuine feeling of being a shared community experience and all music is performed live.
