About Cuckoo Ridge Country Retreat
Situated in the heart of an indigenous forest this oasis of lawn and selected trees offers a tranquil setting overlooking a valley of lush greenery and adjacent fruit farms. The all-weather concrete access road winds its way through an indigenous landscape with the occasional sighting of Red Duiker, Bush Buck, vervet monkeys and bands of mongoose.Relax in the sun by the rock pool or in the shade of the boma with a book from our library, your private covered veranda in your chalets offers views over the Majajekulo river valley. Braai (Barbeque) under the stars listening to the African night, on quiet nights the sound of running water from the Majajekulo river can be heard between the cries of the Bush babies as they go about their nocturnal lives. Cuckoo Ridge offers 5 chalets, each unique with their own character. Guests have the option of either bed and breakfast chalets or self-catering chalets. Each bed and breakfast chalet has either a king- or queen-size bed, an en-suite bathroom, and a private lounge. Each self-catering chalet has a fully equipped kitchen, an open-plan lounge and dining area, and is equipped with a TV with selected DSTV channels, air-conditioning in the bedroom, a ceiling fan in the lounge, a hairdryer, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. All linen and towels are provided, along with gowns and cutlery and crockery. Guests have access to free WI-FI and covered parking..Cuckoo Ridge is approximately 26 km from the Kruger National Park, entering through Phabeni Gate, and is approximately 3 km from the Sabie River Adventure Centre which offers river rafting, quad biking, horseback riding to name but a few.

Note: We are not a Hotel, we do not have 24 hour reception late arrivals need to be arranged in advance to avoid cancellation for a no show and forfeit of deposit.
Check-in time is from 14h00 to 18h00 and Check-out time by 10h30. Late arrivals, Early arrivals and late check-out by prior arrangement only.
Note it is approximately a 5 hour drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria
And a 10 hour drive from Durban kindly plan your journey accordingly
A deposit of 50% of the total accommodation booking is required to confirm all direct reservations. The balance is payable 7 days prior to arrival unless otherwise agreed by Cuckoo Ridge and confirmed in writing.
There is a minimum stay policy of 2 nights on non public holiday weekends
Where a reservation is made 7 days or less prior to arrival, 100% of the total accommodation charge is payable in advance to secure the reservation.
Upon receipt of a deposit or full payment, Cuckoo Ridge will confirm the reservation in writing.
A reservation will be assumed to have been cancelled if the deposit or payment as required is not received by the due dates.
Where payment has been made into our bank account by cheque or cash, refunds will only be made a minimum of 10 working days after date of deposit.
Should any reservation be cancelled, a cancellation fee on the full contract value will apply as follows:
The guest will be charged 50% of the total price if they cancel after reservation and the total price if they cancel in the 30 days before arrival
100% for no shows
In addition a R20.00 service charge will be deducted from any refunded amount
Child Policy – our child policy of accepting children 10 years or older is in the interest of their safety as well as our guests comfort. Our facilities are specifically designed to be extremely adult friendly and regrettably we are not able to accommodate children below 10 years of age.
