Located along Cape Town’s picturesque West Coast in a private nature reserve, Sanderling Beach House is situated a mere 300 meters from the shore in the quiet security estate of Grotto Bay. Just 50 minutes from Cape Town, Grotto Bay offers unrivalled tranquillity and security with a number of private beaches and extensive coastal walking paths along the unspoilt Atlantic coastline.

Sanderling Beach House is north facing and is ideally positioned for summer holidays spent lounging by the pool, cooking outdoors, eating el fresco and when you are feeling more adventurous exploring the rugged coastline.

The beach house comfortably sleeps a maximum of six guests (this includes children) or a small family and is well equipped. Offering three double bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite) an open-plan kitchen, a lounge, study area and a dining room there is ample room for socialising or for being quiet if the mood takes you.

The large wooden deck is the star of the show offering uninterrupted sea views over the fnybos with a swimming pool that ensures you can cool down during the hot summer months. Part of the deck is undercover offering some respite from the heat and includes a built in braai, outdoor dining area for 6 and a lounge area for morning coffee or sundowners as the sun sets over the ocean.

The house is fully equipped with Wifi (20MB Fibre), Netflix, Disney+ and DSTV as well as a small library of DVDs and reading books. The interior of the house is light with a calm and tranquil atmosphere, while the kitchen is well equipped with a fridge, a microwave, a dishwasher, a gas hob, an electric oven, a toaster, a kettle, as well as cutlery and crockery. There is an external laundry room with washing machine, dryer and an additional fridge.

The lounge area runs off an inverter so all entertainment services and wifi are not effected by load shedding. Lights throughout the house also use lithium battery bulbs and the gas hob in the kitchen ensures you are able to prepare food during planned outages.

If you are looking to explore the area Darling with its accessible wine estates and the charming village of Philadelphia are a short drive away. Yzerfontein and Melkbos are both 15 minutes by car and offer a number of excellent restaurants and are perfect for picking up supplies. The West Coast Nature Reserve is also only 30 minute’s drive and offers some great beaches and breath-taking scenery.

As the house is situated in a nature reserve unfortunately no pets are allowed.
