Timbali Lodge was founded by the late Pat Forsyth Thompson and his wife, Joy, in 1968. Having spent many years as a prisoner of war in World War II, Pat’s indomitable spirit held fast to the mindset of always finding the good in a difficult situation. After the war, Pat dedicated his life to serving the Swazi nation which he deeply loved and respected. In addition to undertaking a number of assignments for the late, great King Sobhusa II, he was also instrumental in the creation of Malolotja Nature Reserve and the establishment of the Swaziland National Trust. The creation of the Boma restaurant is dedicated to this remarkable man and the inspiration he brought to those fortunate enough to cross his path.

★★★★★ The tv was not working because DSTV subscriptions had not been paid. WiFi signals terrible in the rooms and as such could not even stream some entertainment. Place could do with kiddies play area. Nothing extravagant, just a swing or 2 and a jungle gym. Fridge cupboard falling off. We were in room 7.
